It never fails-
When I'm on the road, people will walk over and ask, "How do you use a camper that's so low...?" Because in "road mode" the BAKPAK is a sleek aerodynamic wing that tucks into the air flow from the windshield and gently curves down to tailgate height, eliminating buffeting at the front and turbulence at the rear. Those folks have a hard time believing me when I say it's got a queen size bed, a kitchen with running water, a toilet, lots of storage, and almost 7' of headroom. But hey, it takes less than a minute to set up, so I'm always happy to give a quick tour!
The response has been overwhelming, and we are working hard to bring this concept to market.
Our initial production will be two models, specifically designed for full-size trucks with either a 5-1/2' bed or a 6-1/2' bed.
Unlike our prototype which was a "topper" mounted on the bed, the new production models will be a fully enclosed slide-in design, utilizing Azdel™ for a totally composite structure. The tailgate stays on the truck to improve appearance and security, then becomes a "front porch" while camping.
